Certain situations seem to repeat themselves without us understanding why.
Relationship difficulties keep resurfacing.
Choices slip beyond our control.
Emotions seem out of proportion to what we’re experiencing today.
And sometimes, we sense that the story doesn’t begin solely with us.
We all carry a family legacy. Far beyond physical traits or consciously passed-down memories, certain experiences, silences, and events sometimes continue to influence us across generations.
Psychogenealogy offers a way to explore these invisible connections.
It sheds light on family patterns, helps us understand certain repetitions, and restores meaning where it seemed to be missing.
The goal is not to assign blame or remain trapped in the past.
Rather, it is to better understand what has shaped us so that we can find greater freedom in how we live, make choices, and move forward.
For when a story becomes clearer, we gradually stop being at its mercy and begin to reclaim it for ourselves.
How I Can Help You
Here are some examples of situations where you might feel the need for psychogenealogy support
⤞ Family Patterns: Noticing that certain events repeat themselves from generation to generation (failed relationships, bankruptcies, illnesses, accidents at similar ages…)
⤞ The burden of a secret or something left unsaid: feeling that a family secret (adoption, hidden origins, a concealed death, etc.) still influences your personal life or relationships
⤞ Relationship difficulties: recurring tensions with parents, children, or within a romantic partnership that seem linked to inherited patterns rather than solely to your individual history
⤞ Unexplained symptoms: emotional distress, blockages, or anxiety without a clear personal cause, but which find an echo in family history
⤞ Search for identity: the need to understand one’s roots, one’s place in the family lineage, and the meaning behind certain life choices
⤞ Unresolved grief or trauma: unconsciously bearing the weight of family tragedies (wars, exile, loss, violence, etc.) that continue to affect future generations
⤞ Transmissions: wanting to avoid passing on certain burdens or repetitive behaviors to one’s children.
Process
The first session is called the initial consultation: we lay the groundwork for our therapeutic alliance; then, you discuss your issue and everything related to it.
After that, each session is unique; we work on your issue using various tools (including the genosociogram, for example, more commonly known as a family tree).
Finally, a closing session will conclude our collaboration.
