TELLING YOUR STORY<\/mark>

Life Story (Narrative Therapy)<\/sup><\/mark><\/h4>

Life storytelling offers the opportunity to reclaim one\u2019s story and make it one\u2019s own; it is a way to pass on one\u2019s inherited legacy - family, cultural, and emotional - in a vivid and intentional manner.

We all carry a story.<\/mark><\/strong>
A story made up of events, encounters, choices, joys, wounds, and transformations.
Yet, sometimes parts of this story remain scattered, unfinished, or difficult to connect.

Telling one\u2019s story gives it new coherence.
It means taking the time to look at one\u2019s journey in a different light.
To bring out its underlying themes.
To recognize what has shaped us.
And sometimes to pass on this precious legacy to those who will come after us.

A life story is not merely a record of the past.
It is a process that allows us to make sense of our experiences, to rediscover our place in our own story, and to become its full author.

For a story that can be told is often a story that can be healed.

Intergenerational and Transgenerational Transmission<\/strong><\/mark>
Every family carries stories - some told, some unspoken.
Life storytelling transforms this implicit transmission into conscious, deliberate speech.
By putting their story into words:
\u2022 the elder becomes an active participant in what they pass on
\u2022 descendants receive a contextualized, human, and embodied narrative
\u2022 certain gray areas can be shed light on without judgment
\u2022 continuities and breaks find their place
\u2022 the bond between generations is strengthened through mutual understanding
\u291e It\u2019s not about saying everything, nor about conveying a definitive truth, but about giving a voice to one\u2019s journey.

For whom<\/mark><\/strong>

Why Work with Life Stories<\/mark><\/strong>
We build our identity through the stories we tell ourselves about who we are.
Certain experiences can solidify these narratives, making them painful, confusing, or limiting.
Narrative therapy provides a space to:
\u2022 put one\u2019s experiences into words
\u2022 gain perspective on events or repetitive patterns
\u2022 identify the values, resources, and choices that run through one\u2019s life
\u2022 give certain episodes from the past a more appropriate place
\u2022 open up new ways of telling one\u2019s story, more in line with who the person hopes to become
\u291e It\u2019s not about rewriting the facts, but about changing the perspective through which they\u2019re viewed.

My role in this process<\/mark><\/strong>
My role is to:
\u2022 provide a safe space for attentive listening
\u2022 facilitate the articulation of the story without judgment or interpretation
\u2022 help clarify what matters and what is worth passing on
\u2022 support a narrative that remains true to the person and their intention to share their story

I fully respect each person\u2019s freedom to choose what to share and what to keep to themselves.

A Free, Mindful, and Human Approach<\/mark><\/strong>
This life story project can be:
\u2022 a family legacy project
\u2022 an independent journey of personal reflection
\u2022 a one-time experience or an ongoing support process\u00a0
\u2022 a complement to existing therapeutic or medical care, with the consent of the relevant professionals
\u2022 a complement to other forms of support

This is neither a medical treatment nor a forced process of coming to terms with the past, but rather a personal and voluntary choice.
I do not provide medical diagnoses, nor do I replace psychiatric or psychological care when it is necessary.

How does the process work ?<\/mark><\/strong>
The process takes place in a confidential and supportive setting.
The first session is an introductory meeting: it allows us to lay the groundwork for your project and clarify your request. From that moment on, we begin the process of crafting your narrative.
Each session lasts 2 hours.
To ensure continuity in our work, our sessions are ideally spaced no more than 3 weeks apart, to give you time to reflect between each one.
In the meantime, I work with what you\u2019ve shared and present a draft to you at the next session. You can add to it, make changes, or provide clarifications at any time.
Together, we choose the topics to explore during each session. Support materials may be suggested as needed (timelines, metaphors, photos, symbolic objects, memorable experiences, etc.).
The number of sessions varies depending on the nature and scope of your project.
A final session concludes the process: we take stock of the journey we\u2019ve taken and analyze the impact of this narrative work on your current life.

Location: In person in Castres-Gironde or via videoconference. I can also travel if necessary (within a 30-kilometer radius).

\u291e The person receiving support remains the protagonist of their own story: they choose what they wish to explore, transform, or preserve.
This story can remain oral, be written down, or be shared in the format of the person\u2019s choosing (digital or printed book).
